HDR merge

Merge bracketed exposures into one balanced photo, one bracket at a time or the whole shoot at once.

An HDR merge combines a bracket (several exposures of the same view) into one photo with bright, clear windows and well-lit rooms. You need brackets for this. For a single photo, use Auto Enhance instead.

Merge one bracket

  1. Open the project's HDR-Brackets tab.
  2. Click Merge on a bracket. The HDR Merge page opens.
  3. Choose a Style: - Natural: balanced tone, closest to the original exposure. This is the default. - Bright & Airy: brighter, with lifted shadows.
  4. Check the other options. Only the options that apply to this photo are shown. See Merge options.
  5. Click Merge HDR. You go back to the HDR-Brackets tab, and the merge runs in the background.

The bracket shows Queued, then Merging…, then HDR ready. The merged photo also appears on the Photos tab, where you can edit, stage or download it.

Merge the whole shoot

  1. On the HDR-Brackets tab, click Merge all.
  2. Pick the style and options. They apply to every bracket in the project.
  3. Click Merge 24 (with your number of brackets).

Progress shows at the top of the tab, for example "Merging 24 brackets · 18 queued · 6 of 24 done". You can leave the page and come back. Click Cancel to stop brackets that haven't started yet.

Interior, exterior and drone

CasaVivid detects whether each bracket is an interior, an exterior or a drone shot, and adjusts the merge:

  • Interiors get window pull, perspective correction and colour-cast correction.
  • Exteriors get sky options, licence-plate blur and lawn and sign options when they're detected.
  • Drone shots are merged as exteriors, without perspective correction.

Output size

Merged photos are delivered at least 4K (3840 pixels on the long side). Exterior and drone merges from high-resolution cameras can be larger.

If a result looks wrong

CasaVivid checks each merge. If a result may have a problem, it's listed under Needs attention with "Our AI check flagged this merged result for possible artifacts". Review it and re-edit the bracket if needed.
