Virtual Staging furnishes a room in the style you choose. It works on empty rooms and on furnished ones: existing furniture is removed first, then the room is furnished from scratch.
Steps
- On the Photos tab, select one photo and click Virtual Staging in the bottom bar, or hover the photo and click Virtual Stage.
- Check the Room type. CasaVivid detects it for you; you'll see Detecting room type… while it works. Change it if it's wrong. If your room isn't listed, choose Other and type a Custom room name, such as "wine cellar".
- Choose a Design style: Standard, Modern, Scandinavian, Luxury, Industrial, Mid-century, Coastal or Farmhouse.
- Choose an AI Engine (see below).
- Optional: describe what you want in Additional instructions, for example "warm earth tones, large sectional sofa".
- Click Stage. It usually takes 30–90 seconds.
The result opens automatically and is saved as a new version.

Standard is good for trying several looks at once. Pick your favourite, then upscale it to 4K.
Room types
Living room, Bedroom, Kitchen, Dining room, Bathroom, Home office, Kids room, Nursery, Open living/dining, Hallway, Sunroom, Laundry room, Patio, Deck, Backyard, Front yard, Pool area, Balcony / Terrace, Courtyard, Outdoor (other), Home gym, Game room, Studio, Spa room, Conference room and Other.
For bedrooms, Headboard direction sets which wall the bed's headboard rests against: Auto, Left, Right or Front.
Picking and keeping a result
- Every result is saved in the strip under the photo: Original, then v1, v2 and so on.
- Click a thumbnail to view it, or the photo to see it full size.
- To try again, select the version you want to start from and click Stage. Each run starts from the version you're viewing.
- Delete results you don't want with the trash button above the photo.
Check the room's structure
AI staging redraws the room. Before you use a result, compare it with the Original. If a wall, window, door or fixture moved or changed, delete that version and stage again. If CasaVivid spots a possible change, it shows "Check this result — the AI may have altered the room's structure". See Check AI results.
Disclose staged photos
Most MLSs require virtually staged photos to be labelled. You can add a Virtually Staged caption when you download. See Disclosure labels.
Same furniture, other angles
To stage a second photo of the same room with matching furniture, use Multi-angle staging.
Limit
Each photo can be staged a limited number of times. If you reach it, you'll see "This image has been staged the maximum number of times". Contact us if you need more.
